Bernell Evaluation of Stereopsis Test - Dinosaur Version

Glasses-Free Depth Perception Test

Glasses-Free Depth Perception Test

Introducing our innovative glasses-free depth perception test that leverages lenticular technology to provide a captivating and cost-effective alternative to red/green or polarized glasses-based tests. This cutting-edge technology enables the use of full-color images, enhancing user engagement while ensuring the test's longevity due to its resistance to fading over time.

A primary challenge in designing this test was eliminating apparent motion, which could allow even a monocular patient to identify the correct answer by moving the test from side to side. To address this issue, we've designed the test with a unique layout: one image in each row appears closer, while the other appears farther away in relation to the circle they are housed in. As a result, although moving or twisting the test may reveal differences between the images, it won't indicate whether they come forward or recede.

The test includes two test plates:

  1. Plate #1 showcases a dinosaur character to assess gross stereopsis.
  2. Plate #2 features clip-art characters in two distinct tests:
    • Test 1 (Rows 1-4) evaluates fine depth perception with a range of targets, progressing from 400 seconds of arc down to 40 seconds of arc.
    • Test 2 (Rows A-C) examines depth perception at 400 (Row A), 200 (Row B), and 80 (Row C) seconds of arc targets.

Discover the next generation of depth perception testing with this engaging and efficient solution that eliminates the need for traditional glasses.

• Test is housed in a black vinyl, diploma style booklet.
• The answer key is printed on the back of the booklet.
• Includes instruction manual.
