The Transformation Cube (T-Cube) is designed to affect the bimodal visual process while steady gaze is maintained. The patient may be given an activity in Neuro-Visual Postural Therapy (NVPT) or vision therapy (VT) and asked to fixate on the T- Cube. The advantage of using the T-Cube is to reduce demand on the focal process and to engage the spatial visual process (ambient visual process) during the therapy activity.

The patient is asked, "Which side of the cube seems more forward, red or green"? If the patient reports the red side forward, ask the patient if he/she can allow the green side to come forward. In order to change the cube orientation from one color (side) to the other the first thing the patient must do is utilize the ambient visual process to release the focalization maintaining one side forward. The release is simultaneous with the anticipatory response by the ambient process to allow the opposite side and color to come forward. Using the T-Cube is a means to develop a visual processing rock between the focal and the ambient visual processes.

Some patients will have difficulty with release of the focalization and will not see change. This is indicative of 'focal binding' as found in Post Trauma Vision Syndrome (PTVS). NVPT is very effective at releasing the 'focal binding' and also re-establishing the ambient process as the anticipatory process for change.

Multiple charts of the T-Cube can be used to develop saccadic fixations. Also, The shift in the T-Cube can be timed with movement of the activity such as with NVPT as well as with the natural timing of breathing.
