Nike’s entrance into the field of Sports Vision is going to bring a wave of interest. It is important that you market the fact that you practice Sports Vision so the athletes in your area can find you. Be sure to join the AOA Sports Vision Section and take advantage of all of the resources there. For example, many of the sports are explained and the visual demands listed as well as suggested testing methods in the SVS Guidebooks. The section also informs you of upcoming educational meetings where you can learn from lectures as well as share insights with colleagues. Bernell is co-hosting a hands-on seminar at the 2011 Optometry’s Meeting® called SVS Bringing Visual Performance Training to the Athlete: A New Paradigm by Alan W. Reichow, O.D., MEd and Graham B. Erickson, O.D. The four hour program will be offered in two sections, one being the two-hour didactic lecture portion while the other is the two-hour hands on workshop. The maximum number of attendees is 120. The function code is 0350 and will cost $75 and will be COPE approved for 4 hours. Coming Soon!
